2026 TOP 20 ABH SEMI FINALISTS

By Kelvin Malick ABH 2026 Semi-Finals – 21 August
The Africa’s Business Heroes (ABH) 2026 Semi-Finals began in Nairobi on 21 August 2026, bringing together 20 leading entrepreneurs from 12 African countries.
13 entrepreneurs pitched on Day One, presenting businesses in healthcare, agriculture, digital commerce, finance, manufacturing, renewable energy, AI and climate technology.
The entrepreneurs demonstrated practical solutions to African challenges, with the Top 20 businesses generating about US$85 million in revenue in 2025.
Judges focused on profitability, sustainability, innovation, scalability and measurable social impact, stressing that good ideas must also become commercially viable businesses.
Key challenges discussed included limited access to capital, shortage of skilled talent, regulatory barriers and difficulties expanding across African borders.
Nairobi served as a major networking and investment hub, connecting entrepreneurs with investors, mentors, partners and other players in Africa’s business ecosystem.
Reaching the Top 20 was itself a major achievement, following a competition that attracted more than 24,000 applications from all 54 African countries.
On 22 August, the remaining semi-finalists are expected to pitch, after which judges will select the Top 10 for the Grand Finale.
Ultimately, the finalists will compete for a share of the US$1.5 million ABH prize fund, while gaining international exposure, mentorship and potential investment opportunities.
