THE CONTRACTOR BEHIND NAROK ROADS.
By Kelvin Malick
Engineer Ma Pengfei, Managing Director of Shenghi Engineering Construction Group Company Ltd, underscored the importance of the ongoing Narok–Ololulunga road project as a key infrastructure investment aimed at improving connectivity and supporting economic development in the area.
A major focus of his remarks was quality and durability. He emphasized that the contractor’s responsibility goes beyond simply completing the road; the project should meet the required engineering standards and provide a reliable transport corridor for motorists, businesses and residents for many years. This involves proper road construction, drainage, materials, workmanship and adherence to safety requirements.
The project is also expected to have a direct impact on the local economy. A better road can make it easier for farmers and traders to transport produce to markets, reduce transport difficulties and strengthen links between communities and commercial centres. Improved accessibility can also make it easier for residents to reach schools, health facilities and other essential services.
Ma Pengfei further stressed the importance of working closely with the local community and government stakeholders. Community cooperation can help address challenges arising during construction, while coordination with relevant authorities can ensure that technical and implementation requirements are properly followed.
The road is therefore not only a transport project but also part of the wider effort to open up communities, improve mobility and create an environment for increased economic activity in Narok County.
