TOP 10 AFRICA BUSINESS HEROES FINALISTS.

By Kelvin Malick.
On 22 August 2026, the Africa’s Business Heroes (ABH) semi-finals in Nairobi concluded after the remaining Top 20 entrepreneurs from 12 African countries and 11 sectors delivered live business pitches. They defended their business models and answered questions from experienced entrepreneurs, investors and business leaders.
Judges assessed innovation, impact, leadership, scalability, commercial strength and financial sustainability, with increasing emphasis on businesses capable of becoming financially self-sustaining rather than relying mainly on grants.
The Nairobi stage was the key elimination round:
20 entrepreneurs → judging → Top 10 finalists
What happens next?
The Top 10 finalists proceed to the ABH 2026 Grand Finale in Kigali, Rwanda, in December 2026, where they will compete for a share of the US$1.5 million prize pool. The overall winner is expected to receive US$300,000, with other finalists receiving different awards.
Overall, the 21–22 August Nairobi semi-finals provided entrepreneurs with major exposure, investor and mentorship opportunities, while identifying the African businesses with the strongest potential for impact, growth and long-term financial sustainability.
