President William Ruto inspected several ongoing development projects in Kajiado County, including the Ngong Affordable Housing Project, a water project in Rongai, and road infrastructure works.
Ngong Affordable Housing Project: The President assessed progress on the construction of affordable housing units, part of the government’s housing programme aimed at increasing access to decent and affordable homes while creating employment opportunities for local workers and supporting the construction sector.
Rongai Water Project: Ruto also inspected ongoing water infrastructure works in Rongai, with the project expected to improve access to reliable and safe water for households and businesses in the rapidly growing area. The investment is intended to address persistent water shortages and support population growth.
Road infrastructure: The President reviewed ongoing road construction and upgrading works in the area, emphasizing the importance of improved transport networks in easing congestion, reducing travel time and opening up economic opportunities. Better roads are also expected to facilitate movement of people and goods between Rongai, Ngong and surrounding parts of Kajiado and Nairobi.
Overall, the inspections highlighted the government’s focus on affordable housing, water access and improved road connectivity as key components of urban development and improved living standards in the wider Kajiado–Rongai region.
