PS JUMA MUKHWANA CALLS FOR INDUSTRIAL GROWTH AND NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT DURING MASHUJAA DAY 2026
ELDORET, Uasin Gishu County | October 20, 2026
Principal Secretary for Industry Dr Juma Mukhwana has emphasised the importance of industrialisation, innovation and job creation as Kenya marks Mashujaa Day 2026.
The national celebrations, held at Kipchoge Keino Stadium in Eldoret, brought together national leaders and citizens to honour the heroes and heroines whose sacrifices helped shape Kenya’s independence, democracy and development.
The occasion also provided an opportunity to recognise Kenyans who continue to contribute to national progress through entrepreneurship, manufacturing, agriculture, education and public service.
For the industrial sector, the day highlighted the importance of strengthening local manufacturing, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, promoting value addition and expanding opportunities for young people.
Mukhwana had previously advocated for manufacturing as a key driver of economic transformation, arguing that stronger domestic production can help create jobs, improve competitiveness and reduce reliance on imported finished goods.
As Kenyans commemorate Mashujaa Day, the focus remains on translating the sacrifices of past heroes into meaningful progress through hard work, patriotism, innovation and inclusive economic growth.
